I write this letter as thousands have been abandoned in Afghanistan to be slaughter by ruthless, heartless and absolutely soul-less humans. You'll know who they because they read my words and feel complimented. In my six decades of life, I've never seen our government commit such cowardly, outrageous acts ...and I am past angry, I am infuriated. But then, did we not see this coming? Someone said to me recently, "watching this unfold is like being straped to a chair while your 2-year-old plays with a loaded pistol!" Who didn't see a perfect storm of evil, deception and debauchery brewing over the past year and a half? Censorship, lockdowns, election irregularities, police defunding (that is, until you need them and then you call them), and now you have the ruthless, reckless decision of American leadership to basically abandon good people to be murdered by the mob in Afghanistan. Make no mistake, this...is...despicable! But don't get too caught up in it because the slight of hand has been to throw out chaos while yet another something is stolen. Keep your eyes on the hands my friend...
Ok, that's the insane. Now to the smile. In the midst of trying to follow the insanity around COVID and understand the decision tree around its management, let us have a moment of levity. My wife sent me this spoof of Abbott and Costello (think, "Who's on First"?) having a debate around the various issues related to COVID. Its funny for a minute...try not to think too much about the truth involved! (Bud) ABBOTT and (Lou) COSTELLO'S..."Who's Been Vaccinated?"

Bud: You can't come in here!
Lou: Why not?
Bud: Well, your not vaccinated!
Lou: But I'm not sick.
Bud: It doesn't matter.
Lou: Well, why does that guy get to go in?
Bud: Because he's vaccinated
Lou: But he's sick
Bud: Its alright. Everyone in here is vaccinated.
Lou: Wait a minute. Are you saying everyone in there is vaccinated?
Bud: Yes
Lou: So then why can't I go in there if everyone is vaccinated?
Bud: Because you'll make them sick.
Lou: How will I make them sick if I'm NOT sick and they're vaccinated?
Bud: Because you're unvaccinated!
Lou: But they are vaccinated.
Bud: But they can still get sick
Lou: So what does the vaccine do?
Bud: It vaccinates!
Lou: So vaccinated people can't spread the virus?
Bud: Oh no. They can spread the virus just as easy as an unvaccinated person
Lou: I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. Look. I'm not sick.
Bud: Ok
Lou: And the guy you let in IS sick
Bud: That's right
Lou: And everybody in there can still get sick even though they're vaccinated
Bud: Certainly!
Lou: So why can't I go in again?
Bud: Because your unvaccinated!
Lou: I'm not asking who's vaccinated or not!
Bud: I'm just telling you how it is
Lou: Nevermind. I'll just put on my mask.
Bud: That's fine
Lou: Now can I go in?
Bud: Absolutely not!
Lou: But I have a mask!
Bud: Doesn't matter.
Lou: So why can't I come in here today with a mask? If you say 'because I'm unvaccinated again, I'll going to scream!'
Bud: Take it easy buddy.
Lou: So the mask is no good anymore?
Bud: No, its still good
Lou: But I can't come in?
Bud: Correct
Lou: Why not?
Bud: Because you're unvaccinated!
Lou: But the mask prevents the germs from getting out
Bud: Yes, but people can still catch your germs.
Lou: But they're all vaccinated!
Bud: Yes, but they can still get sick.
Lou: So then masks don't work?!
Bud: Masks work quite well
Lou: So how in the world can I get vaccinated people sick if I'm not sick and the masks work?
Bud: 3rd base! (i.e., "I don't know" ...see the original skit)
As ancient wisdom teaches, The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.
And again, If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.
Once more, fools takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
And then there is Mark Twain who warned, "Never argue with a fool...onlookers may not be able to tell the difference!"
